The Second Amendment of The American Constitution

With the recent protest on the part of March For Our Lives Americans have found themselves questioning the Second Amendment of the Constitution, while some would like the document repealed such as former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens who has recently stated that the amendment should be repealed in an essay on the New York Times he’s stated that after seeing the movements formed around the idea of enacting gun control has decided to speak out and state his proposals for gun control and a repeal to the amendment.

While the 97 year-old Stevens has a proven track-record from his years as Supreme Court Justice, however the proposals he has stated in his essay such as the banning of all semi-automatic firearms is too much for the president who has stated through his twitter “THE SECOND AMENDMENT WILL NEVER BE REPEALED!” he tweeted. “As much as Democrats would like to see this happen, and despite the words yesterday of former Supreme Court Justice Stevens, NO WAY. We need more Republicans in 2018 and must ALWAYS hold the Supreme Court!”

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” is the part of the constitution that is vehemently defended by the conservative part of the government including its president. And to actually reform this right the two sides of this debate need to actually propose reasonable reforms that are beneficial for both sides. It would also help if one of the sides wasn’t lead by children.
