Inquiry Launched into Facebook’s Use of Personal Data

The Republican attourney general of Missouri has launched an investigation into facebook’s misuse of the personal data of its users. The attourney general demands that facebook reveal every time it shared data with a political group and how much said group paid for the data.

This is after the massive scandal caused by Cambridge Analytica who admitted to abusing facebook to create a large voter database which it got through facebook compromising over 50 million personal accounts.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has reportedly agreed to testify before the US Congress but there is still no date for the actual hearing. The social media giant has been losing money ever since the controversy broke out, and many are deleting their accounts, mind you the simple number of people using the platform is too large to actually hurt the company in any significant way.

Josh Hawley has requested that facebook release a timeline of every one of their interactions with Cambrifge Analytica and Aleksandr Kogan the man who created the quiz that collected the data of those who participated.
